Check out the latest game by developers Fiasco Studios Peleda: a free-to-play sandbox adventure game based on the animated series by Vishus Productions. I may have a vested interest in this game having designed the user interface, knowing both the series and game creators and most of the developers but... it's a gorgeous, fun and quirky little game! Check it out on the ABC. My kids love it!

Rolemodels: A gorgeous set of very personal game cards sourced from 99 exhibiting artists. A huge variety of styles and all stunning.

An article from Co.Design on Make Art Make Money: Lessons from Jim Henson on Fueling Your Creative Career a book written to debunk the myth that creativity and commerce cannot (or should not) coexist by analysing the career of Jim Henson... I think I'll pick that book up...

Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror

I'm a big fan of Charlie Brooker, a T.V. writer and producer and the U.K.'s slightly more developed version of John Safran. He is a Guardian blogger and is responsible for a number of entertaining and fascinating 'Swipe' series that analyse T.V., pop culture and mass media... As well as the amazing Zombie reality T.V. series Dead Set. Well I just saw one of six episodes of his latest series 'The Black Mirror' another dramatic comment modern popular technology consumption in a Twilight Zone style execution and I recommend that you check it out!

Star Wars Rebels: First Glimpse

About the only good thing to come out of the prequels was The Clone Wars animated T.V. series which was mostly pretty awesome... And after it's cancellation will be releasing it's 5th and final season after all. Well, most of the team are now working on Star Wars Rebels and here's a first (if fluffy) glimpse.

Bones 2

Last year I backed my first Kickstarter. It was for a few plastic miniatures, for table top role-playing games. The Reaper Miniatures 'Bones' Kickstarter, aimed to raise enough funds to create the first moulds for their new budget 'plastics' range; to compliment their wonderful, traditional metal range... and it did- Almost 3.5 Million of it's original $30000 Pledge!

I never mentioned the original Kickstarter because of it's niche appeal but after receiving over 200 beautifully sculpted miniatures for a mere $125 for the basic box set (I may or may not have purchased a few 'extras') I thought I should mention that Reaper has just announced Bones 2 (delivery Sept 2014).

So whether you channel your creative juices through RPGs or you're a rabid hobby painter you would do well to pledge a few dollars... or more god help me!

And with 15 minutes on the clock it was at $100,000!

Breaking Bad

I'll leave it to better informed critics to tell you about Breaking Bad, but after watching the last episode of the fifth and final season, I would say if you haven't started it, or if you're lapsed viewer, may I suggest you stop watching whatever's on your USB stick and get back on the Bad train.

Every season better than the last, the last season and episode, unlike so many other great series, did NOT disappoint (me at least). Amazing, tight, forward thinking writing, complex characters and gorgeously filmed. It is indeed probably too grim, dark and bleak for some but it IS one of the consistently best and original T.V series I've had the pleasure of watching (if indeed you could call it pleasure!)... Also, now the most pirated...

Keep your eye out for both creator and showrunner Vince Gilligan's Battle Creek and Better Call Saul, prequel series with BB's irrepressible and scene stealing lawyer. Also check out the official store with great stuff like the above print.

Star Wars: 1313

One of the great disappointments of the closure of LucasArts last year was the loss of the video game Starwars: 1313 which in it's closing state of (now defunct) development looked like it was probably going to be pretty awesome.

IGN has a nice article on the game, or what was the game with lot's of gorgeous concept art, movies; including the demo and the revelation that it would actually revolve around Boba Fett! Check it out.
